The judges announced that the competitors would face a Mystery Box Challenge followed by an Invention Test – the winner of the former getting to choose the core ingredient for the latter. The contestants had to create the perfect steamed pudding in the Mystery Box portion, with Kate winning and choosing figs as the essential component of the Invention Test. The theme of the Test was Middle Eastern Cuisine, with guest chef Shane Delia helping judge. Hayden, Billy and Mat found themselves in the bottom three, while Dani won the opportunity to fight for an Immunity Pin.
